I’m an Irish author and illustrator living in the south of Ireland with my husband, two golden retrievers (Sally and Bingo), and two cats, Pip and Pop. Fun fact: I hold a doctorate in psychology and work as a children’s therapist, and both my creative and therapeutic work focus on nurturing children’s minds, hearts and imaginations. I find much of my inspiration in nature, whether I’m growing vegetables and flowers in our cottage garden or exploring the wild landscapes of Ireland. Dr Katie O’Donoghue, is a child and young people’s therapist with a background in fine art and design. I am incredibly grateful to Kerry County Arts Kerry County Council for awarding me the bursary, it will be a great help in further developing my writing and illustration of children's wellbeing literature The Eamon Kelly bursary is funded by Kerry County Council and aims to support arts development in the Killarney Municipal District. The bursary has been in existence for over 10 years and continues to support arts development, encouraging high standards of arts practice in music, song, dance, film, drama and visual arts. Eamon Kelly (1914-2001), was an Irish actor, dramatist, playwright and storyteller. He was born in Gneeveguilla, Sliabh Luachra in County Kerry. Kerry County Council awards an annual bursary to a creative practitioner who shows talent, accomplishment and ambition in the Arts.
